Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Directed by James Rocco and choreographed by Jayme McDaniel, this production of Joseph started with the director’s vision of a gold disk on stage symbolizing greed of the brothers and wealth of Egypt. From this starting point we discussed other influences. James referenced Keith Haring’s work which then led me to look at other pop artists closer to the 60s. We settled upon Peter Max’s vibrant color and bold interpretations which then greatly informed the scenic concept without being a rip-off.
